Bio<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bel\u00e9n Mill\u00e1n<\/strong>\u00a0is a multimedia artist and audiovisual creator from Granada, working between M\u00e1laga and New York. Her practice engages with postnature, understood as a condition in which human-made substances, infrastructures, and residues have become intrinsic to ecosystems, dissolving distinctions between the natural and the artificial.<\/p>\n

Through site-specific interventions and material excavations, she develops fabulations around emerging forms of life shaped by plastic, marine debris, and industrial matter. Rooted in artistic research and production, her work unfolds through fieldwork, collection, and transformation of materials\u2014fragments recovered from coastal landscapes, agricultural waste, and abandoned construction sites\u2014which she reconfigures into composite entities and speculative narratives. These processes give rise to postnatural archives where matter operates as an active agent in world-making.<\/p>\n

Collaboration is central to her method. Mill\u00e1n works with scientists, divers, conservation groups, and local communities to recover residual matter and activate situated forms of knowledge.<\/p>\n

She is currently pursuing a PhD in Fine Arts (Artistic Research and Production) at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where intervention, excavation, and fabulation are explored as contemporary artistic practices, with the Alboran Sea serving as a situated field of inquiry.<\/p>\n\t\t
